Rem&Coil plant launches unique machine for insulating large-sized coils
Innovative Equipment
In May, Rem&Coil Plant successfully launched a new in-house developed machine capable of automatically applying insulation to stator coil blanks up to 4 meters in length. The creation of the machine was a response to an order from one of the shipbuilding enterprises. The machines existing at the plant could only process blanks up to 2 meters in length.
Technological Challenges
The development and production of the unique equipment were completed by the technical department and the procurement department of the plant in just 2.5 months. The main difficulties arose with the search for 4-meter-long components and their processing. During assembly, an issue with resonant screw vibrations was discovered, which required special calculations and adjustments of operating speeds.
Competitive Advantages
The developed machine stands out favorably from existing analogues. Unlike traditional solutions where the operator moves 8-meter-long blanks (round-trip distance), the new development provides for the movement of the carriage relative to the track, which significantly simplifies the process and makes it more efficient.
Application Prospects
The new equipment can be used not only in the shipbuilding industry but also for the needs of the oil industry, where large-sized coils are also in demand.
