Vyacheslav Russkikh, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Group of Companies for the Repair of Electric Machines and the General Director of PA Electromachine LLC, spoke about the anti-crisis solutions in the modernization and repair of foreign and domestic electric machines offered by Russian manufacturers of electric drives today.
— Vyacheslav , the issue of import substitution is extremely relevant now. In which cases is it preferable to look for a new supplier from friendly countries and when is it better to contact a Russian manufacturer?
— Not only the cost and technical characteristics of the engine are important, but also its life cycle, its maintainability and reliability. Also an important parameter is the operating conditions. If they do not assume high loads, then you can buy an engine from Chinese companies. But if it is supposed to work at high overloads (temperature, starting, and so on), the machines need to be very reliable and suitable for on-site repair.
So, machines produced in the USSR are the most reliable option and are absolutely maintainable, unlike the equipment of many foreign manufacturers.

— That is, it is still possible to repair even non-repairable engines?
— Yes, our group of companies specializes in such works, among other things. And this is our uniqueness.

— You have this electric motor repair program "New Life" that operates at your place. How was the decision made to launch it?
— PA Electromachine LLC has been a service provider for maintenance and repair of electric motors for more than 25 years. And such a great experience is a sufficient reason to launch a unique offer on the market.
Moreover, very often it is necessary to restore, repair the engine, and not to purchase a new one.
For example, an engine that has worked at the enterprise for 50-60 years fails, all the equipment used is made for it: the crusher, the fan, the rolling mill, the supply cables. And there are cases when a factory is basically built around a huge electric motor. It can't be dismantled so easily. And it can't be replaced because modern machines have smaller dimensions. But if the engine cannot be replaced, then it can be given a new life. And this can and is known how to be done by PA Electromachine LLC. That's how our unique program was born.
In the process of repairing an electric machine, the worn-out parts are completely replaced with new ones. In fact, we leave only the case, and replace everything else. That is, the technical characteristics are improved, while the machine remains in place, its dimensions do not change, and all the attached equipment can work further.
As a result, the "New Life" program is significantly more profitable than the purchase of a new electric motor. The cost of restoring an electric machine is 70-75% of the new one. At the same time, the customer receives an engine that will work perfectly for at least the next 20 years. In addition, we give an extended warranty for the work performed up to 5 years.
We are competent in the field of repairing any electric machines, production of spare parts for them. Both this knowledge and unique practical skills are in demand in the market, including among our customers. Therefore, this year we decided to transfer them during the educational process and created a Training center. It is focused on training employees of partner companies and is formed on the basis of an internal training center for employees of PA Electromachine LLC.
The repair business is very complex and at the same time very necessary. We turn to our state bodies with a request.
Repairers face such a problem as finding documentation for the repaired product. Is it possible to commission the creation of a system in which manufacturers of products will store documentation in central archives, and repairers will have the opportunity to use it?
— As part of the import substitution program for PA Electromachine LLC, an improved analogue of the American electric motor for drilling rigs DBA 250 4 UHL1(ДБА 250 4 УХЛ1) from domestic components and materials has been developed. How competitive is it compared to the original, what are its advantages?
— The electric motor for drilling rigs DBA 250 4 UHL1 (ДБА 250 4 УХЛ1) is created from completely domestic components. This is its advantages — reduced delivery times, low operating costs. The overall and connecting characteristics correspond to a foreign analogue. At the same time, the electric motor for drilling rigs is characterized by increased reliability, as it is designed to work in difficult operating conditions.
