At the international industrial exhibition “Innoprom Kazakhstan”, SZEMO Holding presented an asynchronous motor for upper drives of drilling rigs which is already used in the oil industry.
In September 2023, the SZEMO group of companies for the first time commissioned an asynchronous motor DBA-250-4 of its own production at an oil well of the Priobskoye field. This deposit covers an area of 5,466 square kilometers (2,110 sq. Miles) and is located in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District of Western Siberia.

Customers have already noted that the equipment for the upper drives of drilling rigs is working properly on the bush site and meets all technical specifications. Today, this is a completely Russian development, absolutely local production. These engines allow to replace the American analogues of the manufacturer Baldor, Serbian ATV, German Breuer and other imported machines.
The purpose of participation in the exhibition was to supply more technological products, in particular, for oil companies. In addition to the electric motors used on drilling rigs, the company has already signed an agreement with the Kazakh company “Kamkor Locomotive” LLP for the supply of windings for traction electric motors for locomotives.
SZEMO Holding is the only Russian structure that is ready to organize a full cycle of creating such electric motors from 100% local components and materials. And the Rem&Coil plant will continue to supply this project with sections made at its own production and upgraded the line for this task.
